Fred premiered on radio on October 23, 1932 with the Lint Bath Club Revue, and his last series was titled The Fred Allen Show and ran from 1942 to 1949. Allen’s funniest and most memorable radio sketch was called "Allen’s Alley" which debuted in December 1932. His quips are legendary: "I like long walks, especially when they are taken by people who annoy me"… "Hollywood is a place where people from Iowa mistake each other for movie stars"… "Television is a device that permits people who haven’t anything to do to watch people who can’t do anything?
